How does glass in recycling systems work?
The cullet refers to recycling broken or waste glass used in glass making.
When glass items are no longer usable or are broken, they are collected from various sources including homes, offices and community drop-offs, it is then transported to recycling centers, where it is sorted into different groups of colours (clear, blue, green and brown), and any contaminants like paper or plastic are removed using blown air and metal objects are separated with magnets. The sorted glass is broken into smaller pieces (cullet). The cullet is then dried using thermal agnition, primary screening separates larger piececs, and the pulverization further breaks down the glass, where it goes through a secondary screening. The cullet is then ready for remelting, it is mixed with raw materials to enchance properties in a furnace. Its is then melted into a new bottle or jar.
Recycling glass saves natural resources, reduces energy costs and cuts emmisions.
EMC Combustion will manage your entire greenhouse project from start to finish, handling all aspects of design, manufactioing and installation with a full turnkey solution that will suit our customers satisfaction when it comes to recycling systems.
Recycling systems in metal
From buildings to household appliances, we come into contact with probably about 80 different metals a day and sooner or later those metals need to be remelted to a new shape that is strong plus reliable again. EMC Combustion has been involved with metal recycling sysytems industry for a very long term and recognises that this solution comes at a premium cost that is creating obstacles to the successful completion of tasks, this is why EMC Combustion is committed to provide our clients with the most cost-effective solutions to make sure our clients recycling systems in metal is always operating.
How recycling metal works:
metal recycling involves the collection, sorting, processing, and transformation of scrap metal into new products, here's a step-by-step overview:
Collection: scrap metal is gathered from various sources (e.g. household, recycling, industrial facilities, demolition sites)
Sorting:
- Metal is sorted based on type (e.g. Ferrous, non-ferroi=us, precious).
- Sorting methods include magnetic separation, eddy currents and hand sorting.
Processing:
- Scrap metal is melted in furnaces at high temperatures.
- Impurities are removed, and the metal is refined.
Purification:
- The metal products are fabricated into final products (e.g. sheet, tubing, wires).
- Rolling, extrusion, forging or machining processes are used.
Quality control:
- Recycling metal products are inspected for quality and durability.
- Certification and labelling may be applied to ensure authenticity.
The recycled metal is now ready for use in various applications, such as construction, automative, packaging and consumer goods.
Metal recycling offers numerous benefits, including:
- Conservation of natural resources.
- Energy savings.
- Waste reduction.
- Climate change mitigation
- Economic benefits.
By understanding the metal recycling process, we can appreciate the importance of recycling and the role it plays in sustaining our environment and economy.
